List Your Rental Property

We would like to invite you to list your property in the registry, as it will be of benefit both to you, the owner, and to your tenants. There is no charge for this service.

The purpose of the registry is to track the flow of newcomers to the community to ensure that they are welcomed when they arrive and provided with all the information and community connections they will need in order to have a safe and stable tenancy while living in the area.  It is our hope that they will stay and grow with the community.

Your part in this process will not be complicated. We would like you to provide us with the following information:

  • Details of the property for rent, such as:
    • Amount of rent
    • Are utilities included or extra
    • Number of bedrooms
    • Type of rental (house, apartment, bachelor suite, single room)
    • Pets policy
    • Appliances included, if any
    • Yard fenced or unfenced
    • Security System
    • Garage
    • Basement, finished/unfinished
    • Furnished/unfurnished
    • Date available
    • Any other information you would like to provide, including photos of your property, interior and exterior (we can take the photos)
    • Contact information for person who manages property, if not yourself

We would include your information in our registry database and provide it to any prospective tenants who contact our office looking for rental accommodations. We will also be making printed copies of the listings available at distribution points in and around our community.

Once your property is part of our registry, we would ask that you do the following:

  • Advise us when your property becomes available for rent and indicate the date that it will be available for occupancy. We will contact you after the first of each month for this information, or you can contact us by email

  • Advise us of any changes or improvements to the property

  • Advise us when the property is rented, and to whom, so that the Point Douglas Residents Committee can provide your new tenants with their Welcome Neighbour! package, and so that we can take that property off our active list.

Joining our registry will assist you in finding tenants, and there is no fee for this service.

We also work with various housing organizations and funders and as we become aware of grants and funds available to property owners, we would alert you to those opportunities.

To list a property, or for any further information, contact Heather Geddie, Rental Properties Registry Coordinator, at 801-3086 or email
info@pointdouglas.net .
