PDRC Housing Committee

The PDRC Housing Committee is run by a group of volunteers working with the Point Douglas Residents Committee. The Housing Committee addresses issues of concern regarding housing in our community and works with various organizations and agencies toward a long-term housing plan for the area.

Housing Issues in North Point Douglas

The PDRC Housing Committee keeps track of houses that are in poor repair, and reports can be made anonymously by neighbourhood residents. We report concerns to the City and also may contact landlords if that will not negatively impact tenants.

You can report houses that are in poor repair through: Powerline (email point.powerline@yahoo.com, phone 956-4090); or Housing Committee email info@pointdouglas.net , phone 801-3086

You can also report concerns to the City yourself by calling 311. If you do, we ask that you let the Housing Committee or Powerline know so we can track what is reported and the City's response.

Many houses in North Point Douglas are owned by Manitoba Housing. We would like to make sure that Manitoba Housing is doing appropriate upkeep and that these houses are occupied.

The Housing Committee would like to invite residents to attend their monthly meetings and provide their input on housing issues and plans for the future.

The meetings take place on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7pm. The location varies, so please contact Heather at 801-3086 or email her at info@pointdouglas.net to arrange to attend. Next Housing Committee meeting will be on Tuesday, june 15th at 7:15pm at 100 Hallet St.

You may also do so by contacting the Point Douglas Residents Committee office at 927-3827 or email them at pdrc@pointdouglas.ca
